Twisted and tasty
Like any country, Germany has its share of stereotypical images. When I think of Germany, the first thing that pops into my head is the biergarten scene in Munich, where big men wearing lederhosen dance around with a stein of beer in one hand - and the dancing is followed my a meal of wurst and pretzels as big as their heads. Here in Chicago, a similar scene is played out during Oktoberfest. But now the pretzels - or bretzels, as they are called in Germany - are available year round.
Hannah's Bretzel, which opened a couple of years ago in the Loop, offers large bretzels in the German tradition. The bretzels are made with a recipe that originated over 500 years ago in the Swabian area of Germany, not far from Munich. I could understand why the recipe has survived for so long - the bretzels are delicious! Made with organic ingredients, the bretzels are part soft and chewy, part crunchy, and dusted with sea salt to heighten the flavor. They can be ordered with spreads like Nutella or as sandwiches with toppings like parma ham and mozerella.
Besides bretzels, Hannah's offers espresso drinks and fine chocolates - everything from Voges to Toblerone to Ritter. Maybe it is a good thing that the Hannah's shop is so small (it only has four seats) - this place is so great, I could spend hours there!

Ohh, it looks so good!
But I am a little bit worried that the president of your country reads your article, goes there to eat them and is taken away in an ambulance because the pretzels stuck in his throat again...
Take care!

That's funny! But true...
I wonder if there are any stories about Mr. Abe which everyone has to laugh about?
Have a great weekend!

No, there aren't. Nothing. He may be a kind of gentleman but not funny at all unlike the former Prime Minister, Koizumi. It may be because he has risen through LDP ranks on his strength on the kidnapping problem by the North Korea.
But Please don't worry. I'll report you immediately when Mr.Abe gets sushi or something stuck in his throat, haha.
Take care!

Yes, I'm sure something funny will happen to him eventually! But Koizumi probably was more colorful. I will never forget his "favorite Elvis songs" CD!
Take care!
